Thin Lizzy – Still in love with you

Great performance of this classic tune from one of my musical heroes – Phil Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy. This is magic. The clip was recorded at the National Stadium in Dublin, 1975.

Phil Lynott was a black Irish man. Father from Guyana and mother from Ireland. When I read about his life I can relate to some of the themes – as in growing up in Europe as a mixed kid. What I love most about his soulful hard rock is that it’s not only great riffs and melodies but he also wrote great poetic lyrics. Unlike many other hard rockers or metal heads during the 70s he wasn’t about macho posing but instead he dared to show vulnerability and feelings. Unfortunately he died at an early age. But his music lives on.

Cheers!
